We Play We Learn is a non-profit preschool of the Life Steps Foundation (LSF) Children and Family Services Affiliate organization. It offers a very low teacher to student ratio, small class size and individualized learning! Our teachers are highly qualified in early childhood education as well as special education, and provide a nurturing class environment for children of all abilities. The teaching team works together to identify each child’s potential and tailor the program for each child’s abilities. Our half day program is perfect for families looking for social interaction for their child who does not need full-day childcare.

Structured play-based learning integrates the proven advantages of inclusion-based play into all educational activities for children. Our classroom expectations reflect our philosophy and children are taught to be safe, caring and respectful of others. We also provide a variety of learning tools in the classroom – such as visuals, props, and other modifications – to accommodate for different learning styles.
The result is a socially vibrant, fun and engaging learning environment that fosters intellectual curiosity and advances social skills for each pre-school age child in our program.

Get to know our staff-- LeonarLeonor:
I was raised in HMB my whole life. I love being out in nature, especially going on hikes with my husband and our dog-I’m always chasing new views! When I’m not exploring the outdoors, I enjoy baking sweet treats at home. I’m so excited to be here and can’t wait for a fun year ahead.

1. I Love going on long Road trips with my husband and our dog named Rocket

I was born and raised in the Bay Area. I graduated from Skyline College with my A.S. Degree and certificate in Early Childhood Education in 2015. I have been teaching for 12 years now & every year has been awesome! I have 2 kids, my son is grown and in the Army and my daughter is 5.

Get to know our staff-- MelaniyMelaniy:
I was born and raised in San Francisco. I received my Bachelor’s degree from UC Davis. I have been a preschool teacher for 10 years and have been teaching at We Play We Learn for 5 ½ years. I love working with children and watching them grow.

Get to know our staff--LisaLisa:
I was born & raised in Mobile, AL and moved to San Francisco in 2014. I have a Bachelor’s in both Early Childhood Education & Early Childhood Special Education. I have worked at WPWL since 2014 and became Director in May 2019. I have loved every minute of being here and watching our preschool grow into what it is today.

Get to know our staff--LeticiaLeticia:
I was born in Daly City, CA but raised in Half Moon Bay, CA. My family has lived in Half Moon Bay for generations. My educational background is Early Childhood Education. This is actually my first year and I am so happy to be a part of such a wonderful school like We Play We Learn.

1. I have five siblings.
2. I have a completely crazy chocolate Lab named Rocket.
3. I love riding ATVs
4. I have traveled to Mexico, France, and Italy.
5. I have visited 28 of the states & hope to visit all 50 soon. -

This is my 9th year at We Play We Learn. I have my Bachelor's in Liberal Arts and certificate in Early Childhood Education. I love working with Preschoolers and watching them learn and grow!
