Seeking Early Interventionists who will provide services to children in the natural environment of their home; we are currently needing assistance in the East Bay area. 


Who We Are. Since 1983, Life Steps Foundation has been a leader in providing early intervention services to infants and toddlers in California who have or are at risk of having developmental delays. Our task is to help each family maximize its child's potential. Because each child is unique, program plans and activities are specifically designed to meet each child's needs.

Essential Job Functions

  • Effectively plan for and assist children in becoming developmentally age-appropriate and/or reaching their full developmental potential for inclusion in natural environments.
  • Consistently deliver the highest quality services in home and/or at the center for children and their families by interpreting and implementing policies and procedures related to this field.
  • Coach families/caregivers in understanding their child’s developmental progress
  • Subscribe to and uphold all professional ethical standards
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge
  • Complete required paperwork by due date
  • Collaborate with therapist and other community members in the child’s life as needed
  • Work in collaboration with therapist or other agencies involved in the child’s services
  • Work with reflective supervisor seek self-development and mentoring to maximize services for children on case load and ensure health and safety standards mandated by Life Steps.

Essential Job Requirements

  • Have a minimum of one year field related experience with young children and a BA degree in human development, early childhood education psychology, or other social services area
  • Have theoretical knowledge of infant and child development and understand the importance of the parent-child relationship
  • Demonstrable oral and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary interagency team
  • Possess a valid California Driver’s License, reliable transportation and a current automobile insurance.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Chinese or Tagalog is a plus
  • Ability to physically lift, pull, push and carry up to 40 lbs., as you will be positioning children
  • Have experience and competence in using the H.E.L.P. assessment tool & develop goals for the child based on H.E.L.P.

Positions are part-time or full-time. We offer flexible work hours and a friendly work environment.
