Our board represents a cross-section of our community and has a passion for our organization and those we serve. The directors work hard to ensure long-term sustainability of the organization and oversee that the funds raised directly affect those in need.
Erin Farrell serves as special assistant to the COO of The Gordy Company. A native of Los Angeles, Erin has spent much of her life working or volunteering for various human rights, social justice and non-profit organizations.
Prior to joining The Gordy Company, Erin was a part of the Emerging Markets division of New Century Financial Corporations, where she worked to provide and promote financial literacy and homeownership education in lower income communities throughout the Unites States.
Erin spent seven years working for Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr.'s Rainbow/PUSH Coalition in Los Angeles. In addition to her role as Writer/Researcher for Rev. Jackson, Erin also helped organize numerous large scale events – from awards dinners to house-party fundraisers to protests and rallies - prepared statements, wrote speeches, organized press conferences and helped coordinate efforts with other community organizations.
In addition to her social and non-profit work, Erin nurtures a creative side that has contributed quite a bit to her eclectic journey. She studied music and theatre in Bennington, Vermont, studied acting in both Oxford and London, England, recorded music in Chicago and currently studies screenwriting in Los Angeles.
