Governance
LSF is a 501(C)(3) designated nonprofit organization overseen by a Board of Directors composed of community leaders, parent, professionals, and clients. Minority representation comprises over 60 percent of the board. Meetings are held quarterly to set policy and oversee budget and program operation. The founding Chief Executive Officer Virginia Franco supervises the strategic operation, ethical and fiscal management and the direction of LSF’s 24 programs and 8 service units throughout California. These units are assisted by an infrastructure of 5 support units – Financial; Personnel; Training; Clinical and Quality Management; Development; and IT. The organization’s multiple funding streams are independently audited on an annual basis and undergo a variety of government audits as required by contracts. Administrative operations benefit from a strong technology-based platform and a cost centers accounting system, expediting processes and communication across the organization, and ensuring accurate data entry, storage and retrieval. Consistent training and monitoring for the management teams and field interventionists, as well as easy access to information via our SharePoint intranet ensure maintenance of best practices and procedures year round.
