CAADS Budget Impact Sheet

The California Association for Adult Day Services (CAADS) recently published a report on the consequences it projects that adult day health care centers will suffer because of the state budget cutbacks.  CAADS concluded that:

  1. Within 4 weeks of enactment, 392 beneficiaries from the 13 facilities that reported they will close will be referred to nursing facilities (NF).  This will cost the state an additional $15.7 million.
  2. Fifteen facilities will close after two weeks of no cash flow.  Twelve more will close after four weeks of no cash flow.  Consequently, over 3,050 Medi-Cal beneficiaries will be displaced from care.
  3. Fewer ADHC applicants will be admitted and will be forced to seek services elsewhere, so the cost of providing for this population will not disappear.

Here's the entire report, complete with charts that illustrate the upcoming decline in care:  CAADS Budget Impact Sheet
