In Home Educator

Job Description:

In the Supported Living Services (SLS) Program, In Home Educators (IHE) are responsible for providing home-based services to consumers with developmental disabilities. IHEs work independently and utilize their skills, knowledge, and judgment to develop and effectuate appropriate Individual Support Plans (ISPs) for consumers to enable them to function in the community. This includes collaboration with their families, regional centers, and other service providers. IHEs are also responsible for working with consumers, often on flexible schedules, to identify and respond to their developmental needs and progress.

Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED. Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Human Development, or social services preferred. 2 years relevant experience with similar populations. Equivalent experience may be substituted. Good oral and written communication skills. Must be able to get along with consumers and co-workers. Must be able to lift/transport consumers in the event of an emergency. Must be able to travel distances between consumers' homes. Must have a valid CA Driver's License and current auto insurance. Because IHEs work in the homes of developmentally disabled consumers, they must ensure that their reputations are beyond reproach.  Click here to apply for this position.
