Pediatric Speech Therapist

Job Description

The Early Intervention program seeks a pediatric speech therapist to serve its clients in the Whittier and Santa Ana areas.  The speech therapist provides speech therapy services to infants, who participate in Life Steps' in-home program, from birth to 3 years old.  Speech therapists use their skills, knowledge and judgment to consult about and produce—collaboratively with the infant's families, primary caregivers and other service providers—appropriate individual program plans.  Speech therapists also work with families to identify and respond to infants' developmental needs and progress.

Qualifications

  • MA in communicative disorders
  • A current Certificate of Clinical Competence (C.C.C.) from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association
  • Current license in the state of California
  • One year of experience working with infants
  • Good communication skills in working with families and staff
  • Recent health exam
  • TB clearance
  • Current certification in CPR and first aid
  • Fingerprint check
  • Valid California driver's license and current automobile insurance
