
Educator
/ Class C Driver
Job Description
The educator / driver provides
non-aversive behavioral education, training and supervision to adults
who have developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges. The
educator / driver helps design and implement individual plans for consumers,
who participate in a behavioral management program.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Reports directly to the Social Dynamics program manager.
- Supervises consumers and implements individual behavioral service
plans and habilitation curricula.
- Participates in community integration activities with assigned consumers.
- Gathers, compiles and maintains required records and reports regarding
individual consumers on a daily basis.
- Participates in semiannual consumer case conferences and discusses
collected data regarding consumer's current progress and targeted objectives.
- Makes reports to regulatory agencies as required.
- May transport participants in the Social Dynamics program van (nine
passengers maximum).
- May complete other assigned tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in human services / related field or three years
of experience providing direct services to a targeted population.
- The ability to work as a team member and to represent Life Steps in
a positive manner.
- Demonstrate experience in behavior management techniques.
- Good speaking and writing skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- A current Class C driver's license.
- Current, full-liability auto insurance.
- No traffic (moving or nonmoving) violations within the last two years.
Rate of pay: $9 to $11
an hour
